DIG WE MUST –
Update 11/17/2010

I have included some pictures taken last week by our Seaview Manager Larry Mattiasen. Two of the pictures show flooding at high tide by the Ocean Beach Ferry due to a passing storm system. The last picture is of Seaview’s ferry basin during the same high tide, where the lack of flooding along this stretch of Bay Walk is attributable to the recent raising and re-paving of the SVA sidewalk infrastructure project.dig we must

Now that the season has come to a close, construction work has commenced on the next phase of the sidewalk reconstruction program. The following sections have been designated by an infrastructure sub-committee to be most in need of renovation. The recommendations were based a myriad of variables (flooding problems, safety issues, appearance, cracking, holes, etc.).flooding

A Street (between Baywalk and Central)

C Street (between Central and Neptune)

Neptune (from just east of B Street and ending west of D Street)

Ivy Walk (completing the project between Baywalk and the Bay)

The old concrete on these walks is currently being removed. The walks will then be raised, graded and resurfaced with the same pavers that were installed by the Seaview Ferry terminal. After this work is completed the Association will work with the homeowners on these streets to restore the entrances to their property.

We will continue to keep you updated as the need arises

Have a very happy holiday season.
